Governor Jennifer Granholm

Gov. Jennifer Granholm will visit with Michigan's credit union family and speak at the upcoming 2007 MCUL Annual Convention and Exposition (AC&E) in Detroit.

A long-time friend of credit unions, the governor accepted the MCUL's invitation to appear at the Membership Business Meeting on Saturday morning.  The 2007 AC&E is slated for Thursday through Saturday, May 17-19, at the Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit.

"We're very pleased that the governor has graciously accepted our invitation and are looking forward to having her as a guest at the AC&E," said MCUL President/CEO David Adams.

"Gov. Granholm's support for credit unions and their issues is well known, and I'm sure she'll receive a warm welcome from Michigan credit unions in Detroit."

The governor will join CUNA President/CEO Dan Mica and CUNA Mutual Group President/CEO Jeff Post for what Adams termed "a real all-star speakers lineup" at the AC&E Membership Business Meeting.

"To have the governor of the state, the CEO of our national trade association and the head of the global leader in providing insurance products to credit unions all on the same program will make for a pretty remarkable event," Adams said.
